Adopt a routine
Indeed, having a cleaning routine facilitates the maintenance of our interior. However, this routine must be effective when we live with our furry friends. The routine will also help you to eliminate most of the hairs incrusted in your fabric furniture as well as the bad smells in your carpets and rugs.
Airing the house
We can’t say it enough but airing out your house or condo will renew the air in your environment. The ideal recommendation is to leave the windows wide open for about 10 minutes a day! This way, the air in your environment will be renewed and you will be able to get rid of the bad odors you have been experiencing.
Clean the place intended for your pet
Whether it’s the cat’s litter box, the dog’s bed or our pets’ toys, it’s essential to clean these accessories. Indeed, they are real nests of bacteria that cause unpleasant odors when they are not well maintained. For the cleaning of toys, we recommend washing the ones made of fabric in the washing machine. For rubber toys, we recommend soaking them in soapy water for about 15 minutes.
Vacuum on a regular basis
Having pets mean more frequent vacuuming in our home or condo. We recommend vacuuming carpets and floors at least 3 times a week to remove as much hair as possible. For fabric furniture, such as couches, we recommend vacuuming at least once a week to remove hair accumulation.
In case of urinary damage
When you talk about pets, you talk about urine! Sometimes our pets do urinate inside our home. Whether it’s on a rug, carpet or couch, we recommend sponging up the mess. Then sprinkle a little baking soda to neutralize the odor. Afterwards, it is important to call an expert, such as Pro-Sec, to plan a thorough cleaning of the surface affected by the urine spill.
