Beauty tips for your fabric furniture

For people who wear make-up, it’s not uncommon for traces of it to end up on your clothes, towels or even your fabric sofa. But don’t panic! We’ve got a few tips on how to remove them from your fabric sofa.

    What to avoid

To begin with, you should never clean make-up stains with water. This will spread the stain. This will make it even more difficult to get rid of the stain on your sofa.

    Fresh make-up

This tip is useful if you spot the make-up stain immediately. This means the make-up is still “fresh” on your fabric and will be easier to clean off. Start by pouring a small amount of oil-free make-up remover onto a clean cloth and gently patting the stained area. Then rinse with clean water and repeat these steps 2 more times.

    For older make-up

As the above tip is not suitable for make-up stains that have been present for some time, we recommend the following tips. They can also be used if the first tip doesn’t work.

    • White vinegar

First of all, this tip is particularly effective on fabric furniture. Start by preparing a mixture of 125ml cold water and 125ml white vinegar. Next, soak the stain in your mixture and leave for around fifteen minutes. When the time is up, scrub vigorously with a toothbrush. Then wash with soapy water and rinse.

    • Soap and alcohol

A second tip for removing them from fabric sofas is to use 90% alcohol and soap. Start by soaking a clean cloth with 90% alcohol and wetting the stain. Then use a soap cloth and rub the stain vigorously. Rinse with clean water.
